Stretch film (LDPE wrap)

Used stretch film from pallet wrapping is low-density polyethylene and is sold baled, by weight. Clean clear film is the grade buyers want; coloured film, labels, tape, paper and dirt lower the grade or make it unsellable. Contracts look like cardboard contracts, with the specification and rejection clauses carrying more of the weight.

1

What makes film sellable?

Clear, dry film kept separate from other plastics, without labels, paper, tape, strapping or food. Many sites bale film in the same baler as cardboard on separate cycles; keep the bales separate and labelled.

2

How is it priced?

By weight, often a flat price per pound or ton reviewed periodically, because there is no film index as widely cited as the OCC index. The calculator's flat-price option works for film; set the material to stretch film.

Questions

Can I bale stretch film with cardboard?
In the same baler on separate cycles, yes; in the same bale, no. Mixed bales fail both specifications.
